Hi All,

 

Has anyone seen this before.

 

I have a Check Point Edge box connected to a 20 Mb internet service provided by 
a Virgin media cable modem (Ethernet, not usb). The client machine is a desktop 
connected to one of the LAN ports on the Edge box. The edge box is managed by 
SmartLSM. 

 

Generally internet access is ok, but when downloading a file from the internet, 
say 1MB upwards, the download starts and then hangs.

 

If I download the same file to an office machine using terminal server, and 
then pull it across the site-to-site VPN, through the edge box to the client,  
it works fine. Also if I connect the client machine directly to the Virgin 
cable modem, by passing the Edge box, it works fine. The only time connections 
or downloads hang is from the internet through the Edge box.

 

I feel I've proved it to be the edge box but there are no blocks or errors in 
the logs on the edge box. I've also tried upgrading the firmware on the edge 
box from 7.5.48 to 8.0.37 but to no avail.

 

Any ideas ?
