Last day, I also had the same case. ssh and web freezed but the node was working. I have 2 box. Cluster was also get down. I rebooted the box and everything worked correct after reboot. Unfortunately there was no record for this issue in system logs. Because of that the console screen is important. I couldn't reach the box's console screen in problem time, box was on ah other site.
I can just say that; reboot solves the problem. It takes 3,5 minutes that the box come up.
