In theory Cisco's product has more features, however I have been very
disappointed.
A client recently purchased this with a PIX firewall and IDS to save money
over FW1 and ISS Realsecure.
Basically even after 2 patches the reporting does not work correctly
(another fix coming in June?),
there is also a bug when policies are pushed out to managed firewalls and
routers.
The GUI is very hard to use and to make matters worse parts of the
documentation still refer to
HP Openview when it comes to connectivity to IDS systems.
A Cisco PIX is a great product and so is their IDS but the policy manager
does not integrate
well with either.
This is a case where I would recommend spending the extra on Checkpoint.

Subject: [FW1] Way Off-Topic: Cisco Secure Policy Manager

I'd like to hear experiences people who have used Cisco Secure Policy
Manager and if it is an equivalent to Policy Editor of Firewall-1 in
simplicty in its usage.
