if it's an hme interface,
ndd /dev/hme instance # ( where # is the interface # like 0 for hme0)
ndd /dev/hme link_speed (1 means 100mb, 0 means 10mb)
ndd /dev/hme link_mode (1 means FD, 0 means HD)
ndd /dev/hme link_status (1 means link up, 0 means link down)
substitute qfe for hme if it's a Quad Fastethernet card.
