I think you are using hyperterminal. Try using another Terminal Emulator.

Hello,
I'm trying to configure a Nokia IP330 right out of the box. However, the
booting process doesn't get very far. Every time I boot it up, it goes to
the BIOS. How can I install an IPSO if I can't even approach the Nokia?
Please help.
