I'm looking for load balancing software/hardware for two Linux firewalls.
This will eventually become 3 or 4 when I get more bandwidth. I saw that
StoneBeat supports Linux, but Rainwall doesn't...
As for hardware, I saw demos of Radware and Foundry in March at the
Checkpoint User's Group, but don't know of any others. I realize the
hardware doesn't care what OS the firewall is running, I just don't know
too much about it.
Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with Linux and load
balancing? I just looked through a ton of messages in my list archives and
Nokia, Solaris, and NT, but I didn't see anything specific to Linux.
I currently have about 15 megs of bandwidth, and will be adding about 100
more in the next few months. In theory, the total bandwidth could reach
about 320 mbit within the next year, but I doubt it. However, I do need to
account for it in my plans. That is why I would like to know more about the
hardware options.
I do use NAT, but no VPNs, if that matters.
Thanks in advance,
Mark Ingles
