I've got a problem now with the sync... I have 3 of my boxes that sync ok
but the 4th is a consistant number of connections behind and so I get
timeouts.

What do you mean - watch the logs?  I assume I will see the control
connection in the log when I get the box online?

You need to have FW1 state tables sync'ed up before installing Rainwall.  Do
your sync.conf and the  fw putkeys and watch the logs to ensure you are
sync'ed.
