I too have had the same problem in regards to support and Licensing.
I have had problems with our VPN's since the day we bought it. I have
gone from support in Australia back to support in the States and finally
back to their Head Office. There they finally admitted that they have a
problem and they are trying to fix it.
Unforutnately we had no choice but to make a management decision to take
the VPN out of Firewall-1 and use an external product. From that day
on, we have had Excellent support in regards to any problems we have
encoutered using this other venders VPN device.
I also do believe that Checkpoint needs to get their fingers out and
listen to their clients.

Subject: FW: [FW1] Checkpoint Experience
What a story!! if you could do it over, what other vendor would you
choose?
My subscription is going to run out and unless I find a good fw vendor,
or
switch to freebsd/ipchains, I may be forced to give checkpoint more
money
for no upgrades.
Checkpoint never reads this list, so its pointless to complain about
them on
it, since it never fixes anything. Here is my story, which is similar,
the
email trail is the funny part.
This all goes back to Febuary when I wanted my 4.1 upgrade... Prior to
this
I have even had to use hacked licenses, since I have had similar
problems
with upgrades (3.x to 4.0). I have been wiating for my upgrade to 4.1
(which I bought a subscription and support for) for the last 5 months.
I
made some calls (and even got a incedent ID, which was useless).
I am still waiting for the software, and keys. My reseller TRIUMPH has
been
100 times more helpful than checkpoint. They are shipping me a copy of
4.1,
even though they are not responsible for providing software support.
They
only support software if you purchase a triumph support contract instead
of
a checkpoint one. If and when I renew my software/support subscription
I
will renew it to Triumph support. I haven't had to call support ever,
besides for licensing and software upgrades.
I hope you get a kick out of these emails, it sounds like a broken
record...
"next month". I took out the person's name to avoid causing her any
problems, becuase this is a company problem, not her problem.

Jonah,
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The release of
the
4.1 upgrade has been pushed back to later this month.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
