I've
had a very stable FW installation - FW 4.0 build 4031 on NT. It's
been up non-stop since 1/1/00
This
morning however, it stopped working. The only clue was in the event log,
repeated entries "ndis_allocate_packet: can not allocate new packet".
All
system resources seemed to be fine - plenty of available memory, cpu and
disk. We don't do NAT, and very little encryption. No significant
changes to the rule base.
Any
ideas?
One
other possibility that I can think of - we have the gateway product. We
have exceeded our license. (New license has been on order for over two
months, but that's another gripe). I thought the FW would continue to
work, just fill up the logs with "exceeded license" messages. Could that
have caused the issue?
