If you check, a large number of ISP/ASP implementations are based on Check
Point running on Nokia platforms. There are a number of reasons, but the HA
features is one of them -- features and cost of ownership certainly factor
in. The ISP/ASP community generally takes the time to test -- independently
-- so it's interesting to see how many of them end up making the same
choice.
Regarding resellers -- ask if they've been through the Nokia training
courses. Certainly being a CCSE helps, but the HA functions are more Nokia
specific -- training shows commitment. If they've also been through the
Nokia VAR Support Course, even better.

If it is configured properly it works like a charm. I have installed it for
many customers with minimal problems. It is not as easy as it looks though.
Locate the nearest reseller and make sure they have done it and / or have
4.1 CCSE's on staff.

Is anyone running checkpoint's HA module between two nokia boxes? Are there
any issues, concerns, or problems? What's the physical setup (management on
a separate box or on the nokias.) I had HA running on solaris boxes before
with a separate management box, but right now we have a requirment for NAT
and VPN, so nokia seems to be the best choice. Since we have "no time" to
test HA on nokia boxes I'm a bit concerned:)
