For Unix, you can use squid. There's also iPlanet's (Netscape) Proxy
Server, and for NT you can also use Microsoft Proxy. Personally, I think
squid is the best performer for software based solutions. You can also go
with hardware boxes like the CacheFlow that another member suggested. If
you choose a software based solution, you can also use Stonesoft's
CacheCluster software, which allows you to make a highly available,
reliable and scalable cluster of cache/proxy servers. You can find out more
