Definitely. I've done it on my previous PowerBook G3 "Wallstreet" II. I have
a hacked copy of the 10.1 update CD that lets me do a full install, and then
I upgraded from there to 10.1.3.

Now, I've read and I'm experiencing some strange problems with that update.
On my other computer, a Blue & White G3 with a 500 MHz G4 upgrade processor
and 768MB of RAM, as soon as I upgrade from 10.1 to 10.1.3, I'm no longer
able to launch the Terminal or NetInfo applications. Doing so result in all
running applications to be terminated and I'm taken back to the login panel.
The applications that are running at that time generate a crash log with an
"BAD ACCESS" error as the cause. When that happens, I cannot login anymore
before restarting.

So, there are some oddities with that upgrade and I'm looking forward 10.2
to fix those various problems, including those that I read others had.

dangling pointer n.: [common] A reference that doesn't actually lead
anywhere (in C and some other languages, a pointer that doesn't actually
point at anything valid). Usually this happens because it formerly pointed
to something that has moved or disappeared. Used as jargon in a
generalization of its techspeak meaning; for example, a local phone number
for a person who has since moved to the other coast is a dangling pointer.
