For no clear reason of any kind, the other hard disks finally showed
up in each other's Chooser window and so "HI-HO file transfer away!"

However, when I was done moving files around I went back to both of
the choosers and selected the laser printers thinking that this would
stop the active file sharing (so I could unplug the powerbook and
leave the office). Alas, the respective disks remained on each
other's desktop and when I clicked on them (after unplugging the
crossover cable), the little watch thing came up and it went into
perpetual search mode. I got bored after a few minutes of this (I
made a cup of tea in the meantime - reminded me of my old Mac SE when
using Excel 3.0's graphing feature), I restarted both machines and
then the disk images disappeared off of the two desktops.

What's the proper way to terminate a file sharing 'session'?

Suggestions?

Sincerely,
