As some have suggested, System Profiler may help, but
not if you've changed out your hard drive (as I have).
 I believe there is a serial number inside the case,
but I couldn't say where.  Mine disappeared within
about 6 months of purchase, so I've kept paper notes
with the serial information on it for reference...
