I’m helping a friend with her bronze keyboard Lombard, which has a problem best
described as “slow wakeup from sleep.” The unit goes to sleep normally, but takes
anywhere from 60 seconds to five or six minutes to wake up: the screen lights up, the
outline of several windows is drawn (but not the contents), the cursor shows the
watch, the disk is spinning, the caps lock led turns on and off... but the unit won’t
finish drawing the windows and act responsive for a really long time.

Other history: she had been upgraded to OS 9.0.4, but I wiped the disk clean and
re-installed system 8.6, to no avail. I also re-seated the processor card, and
cleaned the ram contacts, no joy. The battery is relatively new, and holds a charge.
She’s been told that the unit probably requires a new logic board, but I thought I
would ask the wisdom of the group if anyone had any fresh ideas. Any suggestions?

Another friend said that he thought he saw a discussion of a similar problem here on
the list a couple of months ago; if anyone has a copy of the relevant postings you may
send them to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks in advance.
