booting with extensions off does NOT defeat Multiple Users. Booting with 
extensions off renders a message asking for an admin password. 

the best option, really, is to ensure the physical security of your 
computer. to anyone knowledgeable enough, almost all of these can be 
defeated fairly easily... they may not manage to read your data, but they 
could destroy it if nothing else.
