I don't know if this is true that it is only the DVD module that fails. My LG 8080 DVD is now dead for the second time, and my battery is dead for the third time. *BUT this time the two died at the same time!!!!* In the previous repairs, apple has just replaced the modules, obviously this is only a short (2 month?) term fixit. I think it is a complex problem involving the motherboard and module, as the folks with the Mashita DVD drives have a lot less problems.
