perfectly in both the upper and lower slots in my Pismo and the Apple
Service Manual does not specify low profile RAM in the lower slot either. I
have put two 512 chips in three Pismos so far and have never purchased the
low profile chips, even though they were available from the vendor and all
or them fit perfectly.

Tom is absolute correct, I also used just full size chip (512MB) on both
upper and lower slot on my pismo.
