Hello to everyone, I just bought a Lombard..333mhz, 192 megs of ram, 4 gig
hd, yadda yadda...and was just wondering what you guys have as far as your
OS on your Lombards..Also, I'm thinking about upgrading the HD, first of all
I didn't realize how expensive laptop hd's were compared to a typical 3.5in
drive! And the more I got to looking, it would appear for not much more I
could get a Newer Firewire card, and a firewire 7200rpm HD for just a little
bit more than a regular 2.5 5400rpm IDE hard drive...just wondering if any
of you have any experience going this route and your observations on the
topic...Next item, I have heard you can swap the 400mhz cpu into the 333mhz
logic board with no problem, then you lack the dvd decoding but gain the
extra cpu power...anyone done this? I can either get the CPU for an easier
swap or the entire 400mhz Logic board and the CPU, just trying to save
myself a couple bucks...besides taking this guy apart is it difficult to
make the swap? On the topic of Dvd, I can just grab the 400mhz dvd rom
module, then the PC card decoder and be on my way correct? Or like I said
earlier swap the entire 400mhz logic board in and be a "fake" 400mhz DVD
capable lombard if you will? or am I dreaming?!...I thank you for taking
your time to read my post and look foward to your responses either on list
or off.. [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks, Josh
