Is your Netgear configured as a gateway? Is your base station too? I had
them both configured to distribute IP addresses over my network and always
had problems until I realize it. If you can provide the setup of your
Netgear and your base station, I or someone else might be able to help more.
I have a similar setup where I have a Pismo often hooked to my graphite
AirPort Base Station which is in turn connected to my router. I have 2 other
Macs and 2 PCs and all of them can see each other on the network.

Evil Empire n.: [from Ronald Reagan's famous characterization of the
communist Soviet Union] Formerly IBM,now Microsoft. Functionally, the
company most hackers love to hate at any given time. Hackers like to see
themselves as romantic rebels against the Evil Empire, and frequently adopt
this role to the point of ascribing rather more power and malice to the
Empire than it actually has. See also Borg and search for Evil Empire pages
on the Web.
