What if you don't have OS9 installed on the system?

Gary,
It's a common problem with the WS when you install Jaguar, luckily it 
also has a simple solution.
Boot into OS9 and just go to the Monitors control panel, make some 
changes and then boot back into OSX, this should eliminate the problem.
