From reading the web site, I believe Wegener Media is David and his brother, and they travel a lot. I've dealt with him now and then for some ten years, since the days when all the Mac trading happened on the AOL bulletin board - which was also where Small Dog got its start, as I recall. David seems to mean well, but is one of those types who operate only in forward gear, has a hard time going back to fix a deal that's gone bad. Post sale corrections are a drag for a small operation - I know how I hate to have to go back to fix a problem with a job, rather than getting on to the next (paying) one - but that's no excuse. About a year ago I got a modem from him that turned out to be the wrong type (his error), and it was a real hassle to get the right one, then a very late refund that he owed me. In the end, it was far more hassle than it was worth.

BTW, I thought David was a subscriber to this list? I know he's on one of the LEM lists. Maybe he's on vacation.

As for PayPal, I've had problems with them as well, which resulted in my account being "frozen" for a year, as I wasn't going to knuckle under to their extortion. In any controversy, they interpret the evidence in their favor, i.e. to confiscate and keep your money. (Why does a dog lick itself? Because it can.) I'd suggest: (1) DON'T ever keep more than a minimal account balance with them, cause you could lose it anytime; immediately transfer funds from your PayPal account to your bank account if you make a big sale. (2) But DON'T give PayPal access to your bank account; you can link the PayPal account to the bank account one-way, to transfer funds from the former to the latter, without allowing PayPal to tap the bank account.
