The I/O door on my Lombard has detached from its springs so that it is loose and does not completely close. Apple instructs that it can be re-seated by pulling outward at the center of the door and then releasing. This is not working for me.

Is there any other way to re-attach the door to the springs without disassembling the entire machine?

I had the same problem. I couldn't work out any way short of disassembling the machine, which is what I did. Fortunately I had the teardown pdf to follow. It wasn't as hard or as nerve racking as I feared, but you have to _completely_ strip the machine, even removing the motherboard, to get at those springs. It was successful, though.

Jim,

Thanks for the feedback. I do have the teardown PDF. As this is not an emergency, and the machine has a couple of other non-urgent problems, I will just wait until I have the time to take it all apart and fix everything at once.
