ahhh magnets affect everything, Gravity, pace makers, LAPTOPS, monitors. Stick a nice big one on your book!!

You're right. A magnet will have no effect on an LCD. With CRTs, a magnet may magnetize the shadow mask/aperture grille and cause discoloration.
