My boss' WS is showing signs of what appears to be a bad A/C connection on the sound card. When charger/adapter is plugged in, battery doesn't charge. Yo-yo adapter from an ibook doesn't charge it either. If they wiggle and hold the connection they can get it to power up.
Called the local Apple repair store, and they suspect the sound card. I found some fairly good instructions on the internet for taking the thing apart, but it appears I'll really need to get into the guts to get to the sound card. How tough is it really? What special tools (screwdrivers) might I need? Is it possible to re-solder cracked connections, or where is a good place to find an inexpensive sound card?
