Hi folks, can you help with this one. please.
I installed a clean copy of 10.2 jaguar onto a reformatted hard disc. All clean.
I had saved my internet preferences, for my client (mulberry)
The server connects whne I press connect. All settings are correct, including an alternative dial up connection. I am using the internal modem.
However when I try to check mail, or to connect my browser, it cannot connect , and a modem error is reported. The email client even tries to dial up when already connected. I have switched off automatic connection on remote access.
Even Apple's email client does this; my chess internet programme, auction bidder, all the same: 'modem connection problem reported', 'check modem connections' and no successful action from these applications. The settings are correct however. And I may even be connected, manually. I restarted in OS 9 with same settings and applications, no problem.
What can be wrong?
regards, John
You don't mention what machine it is, but just in case it may be useful: I was totally unable to use the modem in my Wallstreet with Jaguar until 10.2.3, I think. Maybe you should try and update Jaguar to the latest version, 10.2.8, or to 10.2.6 at least, and see if it makes a difference.
