Canon works great with Mac OS X I used a powershot s200, 2400, s30. s50. They all work perfect through canon provided soft or with the preinstalled mac os x soft. If you are considering the 10D, I would also look at the Fujifilm and the Nikon (on which the Fuji is based) models. I use a D100 Nikon (and also an 8008) and have no problems transferring pics using a "PC only" pc card reader which came with a Bluetooth adapter thrown in for $40 or so at Best-to-pass-it-buy. Nikon also provides some sw, but read the reviews to learn more.
It's a little like Ford/Chevy/Dodge. Personal preferences and habits sometimes trump features. They all have their plusses and unbelievable aggravations.
There are many comparisons on line on these 3 cameras and all cost $1500-1800 body only. I bought mine locally from an established servicing dealer.
