As an mobile OSX-user, I wonder if it would be a good idea to use a fast (512MB, 10MB/s sustained read) formatted CompactFlash card inserted into my PCMCIA-slot (incl. adaptor) as a drive strictly for the use of Virtual Memory. Or is my my standard 4800rpm HD still a better solution for Virtual Memory.
Will the use of CF speed up my system when I need more than 512MB? Does anyone has some experience with this?
My Apple is a PB G4 17" 1Ghz 512MB 60GB OSX.3.2
Thanks
Arn
PS: i can use the CF also for my photography...
