The closest thing I can compare it to is when it puts itself to sleep when the battery runs down, except that there is no warning and it's completely shut off. Pressing the restart button brings it back to life, and it runs fine for a while, then wham, it goes dead again.
This feels like a power supply problem of some sort. It happens both on the battery and when plugged into the wall (with two different yo-yo adapters). It also happens whether the batter is installed or not.
Now, through trial and error, I have been able to produce the problem on demand. It seems to happen whenever I press on the casing below the keyboard, to either side of the trackpad. I don't have to press very hard. Does anyone know the cause of this? Is there some perhaps internal structural failure on this old Powerbook that is creating the power supply problem? Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks in advance folks...
