I am contemplating a purchase of a new laptop to replace my G3 firewire (Pismo). I would like a DVD burner on it. I am looking at:

--14" ibook (1.2 Ghz, 256 MB DDR266 RAM, Bluetooth, SuperDrive, 512 L2 cache, 60 GB HD, Radeon 9200, 32 MB Video memory, airport extreme (note that I have customized what this comes with)

--15" PowerBook (1.5 Ghz, 512 MB DDR333 RAM, Bluetooth, SuperDrive, 512 L2 cache, 80 GB HD, Radeon 9700, 64 MB Video memory, airport extreme, FW 400 & 800

With the ibook I know I would need to upgrade memory. How important is the faster RAM, the extra video memory, the improved video card, and the bump in processor speed for working with iMovie and iDVD? The price difference is pretty dramatic-- like $500-600!

Any advice would be appreciated!

Kate
