I just purchased a 15" powerbook. I was trying to use my home wireless network, but I couldn't get the powerbook to recognize the passphrase during the initial set up. My WLEp encryption key is a date (e.g. "Apri1 1, 2004"). I tried entering the date, the ascii character codes (which is how I entered the phrase into the access point) both with and without quotes around them.

Does anyone know how I can specify a pass phrase like this?

Also, while on the subject, what are the best books that explain how to use OS X for a person who is returning to the Mac after about 8 years of windows/unix use?

Thanks much.
