1. Load all the tunes on the PC first, then plug the iPod into the Mac (if you start on the Mac, the PC cannot read the iPod and you have to initialise it for the PC, losing your songs).
Itunes for Windows formats the iPod as a fat32 file system, which OS X can read. Itunes for OS X formats the iPod as an HFS drive, which windows cannot read.
