You can get cable converters to USB and "MacGPS Pro" software. I'm not sure how far that will take you in the direction you want. I've gone farther than I have time to figure out.

I have a Garmin Forerunner (small wrist top GPS unit). It comes with a serial cable for a PC. I have Virtual PC. What I'm not sure about is whether it's possible to get some kind of converter dongle to hook it up to the USB port. Garmin doesn't appear to sell a USB version of the cable. I'd like to be able to use the logbook software and update the firmware without borrowing someone's PC.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Meg
