Rather than repeat information that has been mentioned on the list 
repeatedly, I like to suggest you email list member Ken Vann 
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and ask him to email you his wireless FAQ, 
which he will do for free. It has more good information than you can 
imagine.

If that doesn't answer all, or most, of your questions give the list 
another shout. But you'll be surprised what you'll learn from Ken's 
FAQ.
