I'm not sure about the "Valid" attribute, but I think that the dependency is

memory, so I could certainly be wrong. I'm not sure that the extension would
be able to diagnose as to whether the drive is in working order or not. This
is purely speculation but I've never heard that specific extensions driving
hardware are able to diagnose if the hardware is running fine or not.

Is your LG drive working or not?

Yo Laurent,
The drive is working fine so far...Was just curious as to whether or not this would be a possible answer as to why the previous drive stopped mounting DVD's immediately after upgrading to 10.3.3 back in May..
I am now using 10.3.5 and don't seem to have any problems although I have heard that some people are having major troubles (according to Charles Moore at AppleLinks)..Still haven't had time to try to see if the PLW NTR will work w/the Asante unit and the Pismi/iMac SE 400..
Regards,
Mike
