I've got another 6 weeks to decide on AppleCare as well for my 12" PB, and so far, I think I'll keep my money.
The little aluminum Powerbook has been rock-solid, and with repairs averaging in the $200 range from companies like MacFixIt, if something does go wrong I'll still save money by not getting AppleCare.
