Hi Ben,
Obviously that (max 640MB RAM) is not true anymore... My new iBook can take up to 1.25 GB RAM. Clipped from a website about the 1.2 Ghz iBook:
256 MB (installed) / 1.25 GB (max) - DDR SDRAM - PC2100 - 266 MHz
So - it seems like it is the same when it comes to RAM for the two...
When it comes to the looks of the two, I guess it is much a matter of taste... Personally I love the Titanium look, but ended out with an iBook anyway. I will be polishing a lot in the future, LOL... When it is clean and polished, the iBook does look real good too, I think... When it comes to practicality, the older PB's sure were a lot easier to deal with, like the Pismo I am using right now...
Aase :) (who is so happy with a new keyboard for the iBook on the way as well as an Airport Express base)
Also, PowerBooks can ("officially") take more RAM (up to 1.25GB, I believe, compared with 640MB for the iBooks). Newer, high-capacity SODIMMs make this less of an issue, but it's still good to have over 1GB of RAM wherever possible.
