Yes, that is one consideration, but I have had enough of me changing my Macs every other week (slight exageration) and never being able to settle. I am pretty good at finding cheap Macs but then find the temptation of selling them too much.
I have so far built up a cash buffer of about the value of a new iBook, and having paid back the starting capital.
As I said, I now need to settle down with one Mac that fits my needs, hence all the toing and frowing with which model.
My reasoning with the painting is that if I buy a dented PB G4 Alu which has already got a lower value, I'm not going to harm the value by repairing it and repaingting it.
In any case, it is the USE that is the value not the resell value!!
I hate it when you see ads where people are selling a Mac with the text "paid $4000 five years ago, want $3000"...
Forgetting actual hardware depreciation, five years of use costs more than $200 per year!!!
