If you want to back up your data - and all your data is in your directory - it is a barely okay backup solution. Its selling point is being able to backup to your .Mac account. I¹ve never been able to get a successful backup to .Mac twice in a row. For backing up to CD, DVD, or other drive it is lame compared to other inexpensive solutions. I can recommend two good solutions and these are just the two that I use personally. There are lots more options. 1) SuperDuper! Does what CCC does much more elegantly and offers other options as well. I use this application about once a month to back up my system and applications folder -> but not data 2) Deja Vu is fantastic if you regularly connect to an external drive or, in the case of a desktop if you have more than one drive internal or external. It backups up user specified folders on a schedule you set.
