If you're looking for cheap, and I mean REALLY cheap, go here and check this out: http://astro.temple.edu/~moshe/intersil/ I bought a 10 dollar Syntax USB-400 usb tab, just to try this out, and it works surprisingly well. Its cheap, and the drivers that come with it are windows, but no worries. D-Link has drivers that you can modify to recognize the Syntax instead, and it works just like D-Link's, only 1/3 the price. Its only 802.11b, but the range is pretty good and the price is awesome. However, if you aren't using OS X then this doesn't help much...
