Hold down Cmd-Opt-O-F at startup, type reset-nvram <return> reset-all

Is that it?
(oh, and <return> is the key on the keyboard , don't type "<return>".)

I see, but I seem to recall seeing a post that indicated
a keystroke initiation of NVRAM reset.
