No. This is exactly what that option is for.

It doesn't apply, although any programs that require a higher lever of OS won't work. (IE: some programs requiring, for instance 10.3.4 or better won't work. Also it doesn't transfer system preference panes or plug-ins.

Archive&Reinstall is the equivalent of the old OS 9 'Clean Install'.

Typically though, I do an A&R followed by applying the latest combo update, so it doesn't really matter.
