I highly recommend SuperDuper!. It's the best backup app that I've tried, and the best part is that you can customize it in a million different ways. I've been using it for about 8 mos. and it hasn't let me down yet. Starting in version 1.5, they include an AppleScript to run a fully automated daily backup. It's worth the $19.95.
