Update on Dashboard.
I installed Amnesty ( http://www.mesadynamics.com/amnesty.htm ) and now I am a completely happy camper. I am replacing Konfabulator with Dashboard. You can configure Dashboard with Amnesty to have specific widgets to remain on the desktop. This should have been an embedded preference into Dashboard to begin with.

I've always used Safari. I've personally had no issues with it. Although I'm still irritated that there is no "per domain" allow/ deny popups feature. That's the one feature that I miss from using Firefox
Mail is fine--I just wished there was "next" and "previous" buttons AND some sort of an indication when it is checking the mail (I know I can get the Activity Viewer but then I wished the window would appear and then would disappear when finished).
I'm getting used to the new mail. I don't like how it looks compared to the old one (looks too much like an add on application). I would prefer to have my choice of where the folder list appears like I did with Mail 1.0. There were times I wanted the folder bar to disappear. I can't do that now.
Dashboard IS a toy. I have nixed it and went back to Konfabulator. Why should I use two hands and press two buttons in order to get the information that can easily be ready for viewing on the desktop using Konfabulator?
I use the F12 key to activate my Dashboard. I'm not sure that I like the implementation yet. I would like the desktop apps to pop up, but not gray out everything else that I have going on. It's almost TOO separate from my workspace, instead of being an addition.
I did an archive and install on my machine, after making a bootable backup to an external drive with CCC. However, if I get some time, I'll probably clear everything out backup my home directory, and format my drive and do a clean install. I know there are some things on here that I'm not using any more and that should be cleaned out.
