Just scored an entire bottom case for a Wallstreet, for a paint mod project. It's intact and in good shape, but looks like it's been sitting on a shelf in a garage or basement for quite a while. Wiping down the outside was easy enough, but there are a few grimy areas on the inside (particularly in the case bottom) that need a real cleaning. Suggestions as to the best cleaning materials to use? Anyone developed a tried and true process for this kind of cleanup?
If it's just the case plastics, I was successful in cleaning SwampThing's <http://dbdev2.pharmacy.arizona.edu/swampthing/ swampthing.html> innards out with regular dishwashing soap; Palmolive, if brand matters, though any one should work. Just make sure to rinse thoroughly.
To get in the nooks and crannies I used an old toothbrush and some 'acid brushes' <http://tinyurl.com/c7jsm>, On the latter I trimmed them down considerably from original bristle lengths to make a nice, small stiff brush.
When I picked up this package Harbor Freight had 'em on sale for like $1.99 or so.
