My wife and I each have an iBook, both purchased last November and now both running 10.4.1. We have no issues with heat. Do you hold the computer on your lap or on an unventilated surface? In the past, when I first got this iBook, I used to hold it on a pillow on my lap and yes, it got HOT. I looked into this and saw an article about how most laptop computers need to be on a firm (so air can circulate around it) surface. I bought a little tray at CompUSA. Now, I use it on the pillow on my lap and the iBook stays cool. My wife has no issues with heat either, of course she leaves hers sitting on a table and hunches over it (how she does it is beyond me (looks really uncomfortable--but that's what she's always done)).

I was not aware of this official list from Apple (regarding what to do when running 10.4.1) - can anybody tell me where it is as I am having some serious overheating issues since installing Tiger.

I have called Applecare about this but they did not seem aware of any overheating problem at the time.

Thanks,
