Strangely, the part that broke here is the AC cord, so to speak.  I have to 
push the wire into the attachment into the hockey puck and it'll work for a 
little while (until it gets bumped or jarred).  With all this talk about new 
cords, I suppose I should see if Radio Shack has anything to replace just that 
cord.  

I've also finally figured out (duh) that the iBook 500 can use the iBook G4 
adpater, which is a decent temporary fix.  There, however, my plug on the end 
of the DC cord bent out of shape once when the iBook got moved suddenly.  Was 
considering taking the pliers to it, but in any event, it's a little screwy and 
I'll agree a replacable cord would be A Good Thing.
