i went from 10.3.9 to 10.4.1. i repaired preferences before and after
the install. in panther you had the "usb" option, but in tiger all i
am getting is the hp ip option. the printer is not recognized. on the
other had, the samsung laser works perfectly. i tried the linix
drivers with no change.
help!

product, yet getting it to work properly with OS X is always a
chore. I use it almost exclusively with Windows computers, yet I
have used it with OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) and 10.3 (Panther). The unit
and drivers work as expected with Windows, yet HP just does not
have good drivers for OS X (especially for the AIO units), they
tend to grab and use 100% of the CPU and then never let it go, and

update their drivers for OS X 10.4 (Tiger), and depending on your

As an aside, I find that Canon's OS X drivers work efficiently and
as expected, I just wish they implemented more functionality. I
have not tried Epson machines and drivers with OS X, yet many seem
to be happy with Epson.

hi to all:
i hae just installed tiger in my pismo- 30gb hd, 768 ram 500 proc.,
and i am having problems with my hp all in one printer. i downloaded
the drivers again from hp website to no avail. when i try to add a
printer the only option i get is hp ip printing. my printer model psc
1315 never shows up. it is not an ip printer.
ideas?
