Unless you've already tried this . . .  you said you uninstalled, but did you 
delete the old printer using Printer Setup Utility? Use print utility to 
delete the printer, then add a new printer and select the driver provided in 
Tiger. Worked for me after the upgrade install - the previous printer 
definition insisted on trying to use the older and non-functional driver  
until I deleted it and performed a fresh setup. HTH.
