the scenario:
graphic designer and cartographer (map maker) who wants to buy a new/second hand mac who's a bit confused over which one to buy... mac mini or powermac g4 (quicksilver)?

Do you need the peace of mind and security of having a new machine?
Do you want a small fast machine?

You need to get the mini.

Do you need to run any OS 9 program as opposed to Classic, meaning you have to boot OS 9? Do you need to have a honkin big graphic card or some other card in the computer or have other needs for the older machine?
Do you need expandability?
Do you need tons of RAM, as in 1.5G+?
Do you need a huge HD or a fast HD?
You need the QS.

Do you need to have a honkin big graphic card or some other card in the computer or have other needs for the older machine?

You need the QS.

As you make your decision, just think of the mini as a G4 notebook with a broken display that still will run an external monitor and do your comparison to the QS that way. Because it has the same type HD, same ram issues (more $$$, harder to install, limits on how much) as a G4 iBook.

Just my thoughts ;)
